After practicing Power Yoga for a number of years, I became interested in deeper levels of Alignment, Anatomy and Kinesiology in my yoga practice. So, I created and developed Power Alignment Yoga® which
is a synergistic blend of Power Yoga and Alignment Yoga Principles. Power Alignment
Yoga is a rigorous, flowing, physical vinyasa practice that incorporates Alignment Principles and breath work, with a big dose of
spirituality to align body, breath, mind and spirit. This amazing blend
of Alignment Yoga and Power Yoga invigorates the body, focuses the mind,
and expands the spirit.

Although you may have a
gifted personal practice, guiding a room full of students through a
powerful yoga practice with confidence is quite different than
practicing yourself. Mastering the ability to communicate and connect
with your students is a crucial part of being an effective teacher.
The
goal of Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training is to teach you how to
become a dynamic teacher, while at the same time, giving you an
opportunity to explore and discover the power within yourself, both as
a teacher and as an individual. Our practical training program focuses
on how to TEACH yoga, not just the poses.
Our
service as teachers is to improve the quality of peoples lives and
leave our students in a better place, both mentally and physically. To
achieve this requires a deep understanding of how the body works beyond
the superficial level. From a modern physiology and functional anatomy
perspective, Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training provides cutting
edge techniques such as anatomy study, Iyengar Yoga Principles, video
review, posture specific workshops, and more, for a comprehensive
experience. Having a strong understanding of the way the body functions
allows teachers to better understand why postures work the way they do
and why the series follows a particular sequence.
Power
Alignment
Yoga® is an RYS® Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance®. All
graduates of Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training will be eligible
for registration (RYT®) with Yoga Alliance® at the 200 &/or 500 Hour Level.
What if I don't want to teach yoga? Can I still take Yoga Teacher Training? Yes!! We have 2 Tracks of Study Available.
Track 1 Yoga Immersion - If teaching yoga isn't your path you
can still enjoy and benefit greatly from immersing fully in yoga
practice (asana and alignment), yoga philosophy, meditation, energy
medicine, and group support and discussion.
In Track 1 Yoga Immersion, students are NOT required to take
Anatomy Tests or to Practice Teach. This allows students to fully
immerse into the yoga lifestyle without the pressure of tests and public
speaking.
Track 1 students will receive n a Certificate of Attendance rather than a Certificate of Graduation
What if I choose Track 1 Yoga Immersion and decide later that I want to teach yoga? First of all, we will be OVERJOYED you want to teach yoga!! If you
are in Track 1 Yoga Immersion or received a Certificate of Attendance
for Track 1 Yoga Immersion and you would like to teach yoga or register
with Yoga Alliance® as long as all contact hours are fulfilled then all
that is required is satisfactorily passing the required Anatomy Tests
and demonstrating teaching proficiency by teaching a Yoga class for the
primary instructor.

The 270-hour & 615 Hour Power Alignment® Yoga Teacher Training Curriculum consists of:
Techniques - Includes both training in the techniques and practice of asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting and meditation.
Teaching methodology
- Includes principles of demonstration, observation,
assisting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a dynamic yoga
teacher, and the students process of learning. Also includes the
Business of Yoga
Anatomy and Physiology
- Includes both Anatomy and Physiology (bodily systems,
organs etc.) and astral/energy/subtle Anatomy and Physiology (chakras,
nadis etc.)
Philosophy, Ethics and Lifestyle - Study of Yoga Scriptures, Ethics for yoga teachers, and yoga lifestyle
Practicum
- Includes student teaching and providing feedback as well
as observing and assisting Power Alignment Yoga™ classes taught by
others.
Power
Alignment Yoga® Training is designed for those who are seeking a deeper
understanding of themselves and their yoga practice. Certification is
not automatic upon completion of the course and will be determined by
the instructor's assessment of the student's understanding of the
materials as well as the student's capacity and ability to teach.

Power Alignment Yoga™ Class
Prerequisites for Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training:
The
primary prerequisite is interest in learning the Power Alignment Yoga®
approach to teaching Hatha Yoga. It is suggested that students
unfamiliar with Power Alignment Yoga™®take Power Alignment Yoga®
classes. A complete schedule of classes can be found on the SCHEDULE page.
Students
do not need to be experts in any aspect of Yoga, but they do need to
have a well-established Hatha Yoga practice that has been consistent
for at least six months. **
Students should have a love of Yoga and a strong desire to pass that love of Yoga on to others.
Students should be in good physical and mental health (minor injuries/illness may be accommodated).
For the 615 Hour Power Alignment Y® Teacher Training registration with Yoga Alliance® 200 Hour is required.
At least 6 months Yoga teaching experience for the 615 Hour Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training.
**In order to prepare for the Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training program, students
need to have had a daily personal yoga practice for an extended period
of time. We recommend at least an hour of Power yoga every day for six
months before the start of the training. During the training, we will
be practicing yoga for approximately three hours each day. This can be
physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. Physical fitness
acquired through other disciplines does not necessarily provide
sufficient preparation. We ask that students have a strong personal
Power yoga practice to ensure they will be prepared for the high level
of activity and the heightened level of energy produced in the body by
this intense daily practice of asana and pranayama.
History of Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training and Hatha Alignment Yoga Instructor Certification Program:
Videos
featuring Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee were my introduction to yoga. I
loved the precise alignment and attention to detail the videos
emphasized but since I was living in the New Mexico desert at that time
and no certified Iyengar instructors were available, I began practicing
Power Yoga. I enjoyed the strength building and sweating of Power Yoga
but I still yearned for alignment training; I extensively studied Power
Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Hot Yoga and when my husband and I moved to
Florida in 2000, I completed a 1,000-hour Alignment Yoga teacher training. Through my love of Power Yoga and Alignment Yoga, I created, developed, and have held the trademark on
Power Alignment Yoga® since 2004. Through the encouragement of students,
mentors, friends and family, I created the Power Alignment Yoga®
Teacher Training program in 2007. Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training Program (RYS®) is registered with Yoga Alliance® at the 200 hour level. In 2009, I created the 615 Hour Power Alignment Yoga® Teacher Training Program which is registered with Yoga Alliance®.

Refund Policy:
If Power Alignment Yoga Enterprises cancels the Yoga Teacher Training full refund will be issued
No
refunds will be issued for sessions postponed for inclement weather and
every effort will be made to reschedule such sessions.
A deposit is payable upon application; the deposit is fully refunded if the applicant is not accepted into the training.
If a student withdraws from the training the following refund policy applies:
If the student withdraws 30 days or more
prior to first day of training the student will receive a full refund
of all monies paid minus an administration fee of $200.
If the student withdraws 15-30 days prior to the first day of training the student will receive 50% of all monies paid.
If the student withdraws 1-14 days prior to first day of training or withdraws after the training starts the student will receive NO refund.
No refunds will be made for no-shows, late arrivals or early departures.
Power Alignment Yoga Enterprises reserves the right to amend this policy at its sole discretion.
